Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc. (CIH) hosted its annual gala, themed, “The B-Boys” honoring five men of distinction who share a unique attribute- a name that begins with the letter “B”: Bryan Caswell, Bob Cavnar, Bob Devlin, Barry Mandel, and Bobby Tudor.
The party, hosted at the gorgeous Corinthian in downtown Houston, honored five of Houston's most accomplished and influential men who, each in his own way, answered the call from our community.
When guests arrived, they were greeted by Houston’s finest auction items, which included a $10,000 shopping spree to Nieman Marcus, and a beautiful venue decked out with an old fashioned 1940's feel.
“The B-Boys” Gala tribute kicked off with a word from the President of the Crisis Intervention of Houston, James Brodnax, and a speech from the master of ceremonies, Jerome Gray. A fast-paced video presentation that showcased the many philanthropic contributions each man had made to improve the lives of others in the Houston community was received with laughter and praise.
Mayor Pro-tem Ed Gonzalez saluted "The B-Boys" with their own proclamation day in Houston!
The night concluded with guests boogieing on the dance floor to the popular tunes of Mr. Fabulous and the Big Band Orchestra from Austin.
All proceeds benefit Crisis Intervention of Houston, Inc., a volunteer based organization that provides 24-hour telephone and web-based counseling, on-site crisis response services, crisis response training, suicide prevention and intervention services, support to those affected by suicide, links to the community resources, and community education.
