The Hilton Americas in Houston, Texas was the venue for the 105th Anniversary Banquet "Above All" of the Star of Hope Mission. On Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 more than 2100 guests came to celebrate and support Star of Hope. Guests at the VIP reception had the chance to take their individual picture with three-time Grammy Award winner Michael W. Smith, who later performed at the banquet.
The program started at 7pm; the president of Star of Hope Hank Rush welcomed the guests, while chairman Mark McCollum gave the invocation. Guests enjoyed dinner, before the first Points of Light Volunteer Service Achievement Award for excellence in serving Houston's homeless was given to Dr.Louise C. Moorhead
Three clients of Star of Hope gave their testimonials, before former Trustee Denny McGuiere asked the guests for "Love Offerings". The highlight of the evening was the special musical performance by Michael W.Smith, a singer-songwriter, composer, author and actor with a future as bright as his past, in other words he is a Christian Music Icon.
