On Wednesday October 26, 2011 the Society for Heart Attack Prevention and Eradication (SHAPE) held an evening of great food, wine, friends and fun, while informing guests about the latest information about preventing Heart Attacks. Executive Director Jay Donnella welcomed personally over 80 guests and Houston Oilers Quarterback, Dan Pastorini was there to lend his celebrity support.
Nearly $10.000 were raised to support the SHAPE mission of eradicating heart attack by championing new strategies for prevention while advancing the scientific quest for a cure.
Guests enjoyed Damian's Cucina antipasta and sipped on Italian wines, while they learned that over half of all heart attacks happen to people who have 'acceptable' blood pressure and cholesterol readings, and how they can easily get screened to see if they are potentially at risk without even knowing it.
